Privacy Policy

Overview

The Verdict (“the App”) is a daily opinion poll app developed by Christian Weber (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

We collect as little data as possible:

• Anonymous votes — When you vote on a daily question, your choice (Agree or Disagree) is sent to our database. Votes are fully anonymous and are not linked to any account, device identifier, or personal information.
• No accounts — The App does not require or support user accounts. There is no email, name, phone number, or other personal information collected.
• No device identifiers — We do not collect your device ID, advertising identifier, IP address, or any hardware identifiers.

Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores a small amount of data locally on your device using standard system storage (UserDefaults):

• The date you last voted (to show results instead of the voting screen)
• Your current voting streak count
• Notification preferences

This data never leaves your device and is deleted if you uninstall the App.

Notifications

The App may request permission to send local notifications to remind you about the daily question. Notifications are scheduled entirely on your device. You can disable them at any time in your device’s Settings.

Third-Party Services

The App uses Google Firebase Firestore to store daily questions and anonymous vote counts. No personal data is sent to Firebase. Firebase’s own privacy policy is available at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Analytics & Tracking

We do not track you. The App contains no analytics SDKs, no ad networks, no cookies, and no third-party trackers. Your usage of the App is not monitored or profiled in any way.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer any data to third parties. Anonymous vote counts are visible to all users as aggregated percentages.

Children’s Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Since no personal data is collected from any user, the App is safe for all ages.

Your Rights

Since we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete. You can clear all locally stored data by uninstalling the App.

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights under GDPR. If you are in California, you have rights under CCPA. Because we collect no personal data, these rights are satisfied by default.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the App with an updated date.
